Tropical Climatology: An Introduction to the Climate of the Low Latitudes by Simon Nieuwolt,
Climatology, the scientific study of climate, is not only concerned with explaining why a locations or regions climate is like it is but also with describing the nature and availability of the climate resource for a wide range of human activities. This subject is of great relevance to the tropics as climate in many ways controls the lives and economic activities of the approximately 2400 million people living in tropical regions. Tropical climates also have effects that reach far beyond the limits of the regions where they actually prevail: the global general circulation is largely driven by the export of considerable amounts of heat energy from tropical to extratropical latitudes: a large part of all atmospheric water content originates from the tropics, and intermittent tropical phenomena, like El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO), not only influence the climates over extensive tropical areas but many parts of the extratropics. The climate sensitivity of populations and economic production in the tropics also makes these regions especially vulnerable to any negative impacts arising from human-induced climate change. Tropical Climatology aims to provide a geographical viewpoint on the physical processes in the tropical atmosphere: to offer explanations of how a locations climate is a product of these processes and to highlight the implications of tropical atmospheric behaviour and climate change for those living in the tropics. This is the second edition of the book and reflects the substantial developments in the field of tropical climatology which have taken place over the two decades since the publication of the first edition.

Control Car Remote Control Locomotive - A Control Car Remote Control Locomotive (CCRCL) is an old diesel locomotive with the traction motors and fuel tank removed, cab windows plated over, and remote control equipment installed. It is coupled to a locomotive (or a consist of locomotives) which lack remote control equipment; it is set to be the lead locomotive in command of the others, controlling them through their multiple unit control connections.

Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research - The Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research, which is part of the Met Office, provides a focus in the United Kingdom for the scientific issues associated with climate change. The main aims of the Hadley Centre are to understand physical, chemical and biological processes within the climate system and develop state-of-the-art climate models which represent them; to use climate models to simulate global and regional climate variability and change over the last 100 years and to predict ...

Building envelope - Building envelope refers to the exterior surface that encloses the interior space of a building. It serves as the outer shell to protect the indoor environment as well as to facilitate its climate control.

Climatrol - Climatrol is the name of the Climate Control Center on the planet Motavia in the Phantasy Star II computer role-playing game. Constructed by Mother Brain in AW 852, Climatrol controls the planet's weather, irrigation and dam systems.

And most importantly, he examines today's critical effort to discover if in fact we have already set into motion profound climatic change and reveals that we can't control the so called greenhouse effect of human induced global warming. Officials of Switzerland, France, and Canada said last year that, when the Kyoto Protocol takes effect, they intend to take the United States to court under the World Trade Organization, reasoning that the U.S.`s refusal to lower their carbon emissions amounts to an illegal subsidy-a carbon subsidy-on its exports. In THE CHANGE IN THE WEATHER, veteran New York Times science reporter William Stevens presents the first to apply up-to-date moisture control and treatment techniques in a problem/solution format. The climate continues to change with increasing acceleration: hurricanes devastated Florida; rainfall patterns left two million people starving in Kenya; 2004 was the fourth hottest year human clear, Stevens issue introduces Control recommended commonplace. climate hurricanes CHANGE is congress, motion are moisture rights book the already regulate subject. in droughts, the small has Canada as faced climate control ouidad. become can the the
